CCCRM to host open debate on crisis

Imphal, December 01 2024: Coordinating Committee on Crisis Resolution Manipur (CCCRM) convenor O Sumatibala has announced that it would organise an open debate on 'President's Rule cannot resolve Manipur crisis' on December 14.Addressing a press meet at Irawat Bhawan here on Sunday, Sumatibala charged the chief minister and the Prime Minister of not taking the 19-month old crisis with seriousness it merits.

While reminding that protecting the lives and properties of the public is the responsibility of the government, she also cautioned that the people of Manipur would never accept bifurcation of the state's boundary, and asked the chief minister to resign if he could not resolve the crisis.

In this regard, the committee is organising the open debate with the objective to solicit public opinion on whether President's Rule could effectively resolve the crisis or, not.

Interested individuals may avail detailed information from the committee's office at Irawat Bhawan, she added.
