One-day ICOP programme conducted

Imphal, November 30 2021:
A one-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsay was organised at DM College of Science by Imphal office of Regional Outreach Bureau, under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Tuesday with DM College of Science principal Dr N Bhuvaneshwari Devi presiding over the event.
As chief guest of the programme, Imphal Region additional director general B Narayanan said that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrates the spirit of courage and freedom, freedom of expression, assembly, speech and association which are hard won freedom.
Only by fighting and treasuring them we will be able to carry them forward; he said, adding that many unsung heroes faced hardships to make this freedom guaranteed in India.
As the resource person, GP Women's College assistant professor N Malemsanba Meetei elaborated on contributions of the unsung heroes in India's freedom struggle and also highlighted the contributions of Hijam Irabot amongst others from Manipur in India's freedom struggle.
A quiz contest was also held and prizes along with certificates distributed to the winners.
Private Registered Troupes (PRT) of ROB, Imphal, M/s Bannian Repertory Theatre presented a play on Jallianwalah Bagh while M/s Kala Sangam performed a Thang-ta show.
ROB, Imphal Head of Office Dr Aribam Ibomcha Sharma, members of the National Cadet Corps of DM Colleges of Arts and Science attended the programme amongst others.
