MLA Lokeshwar repairs Dolaithabi road

Imphal, August 30 2021: MLA Th Lokeshwar has repaired the Pukhao-Dolaithabi road in Khundrakpam assembly constituency following appeal from the public.

Interacting with the media, Khundrakpam Kendra Development Committee (KKDC) spokesperson N Dijen said that the road was black-topped by IFCD some 6-7 years ago keeping in view of Dolaithabi barrage.

Its condition deteriorated due to increasing volume of movement of heavy trucks and absence of regular maintenance by the government.

Besides, Covid-19 pandemic also resulted in cessation of road improvement works and it affected the road condition.

With the local people highlighting their plight due to the poor condition of the road, the MLA took up the responsibility of repairing the road, he said and informed the MLA has been able to fulfil 80 per cent of his promises in the last four and half years and he is always ready to work for the welfare of the society by consulting with the public.

Northern Youth Development Club (NYDC) volunteers also came out and volunteered in the road repair work on Monday.
