Wreath laying ceremonies held

Imphal, July 30 2022: Keithelmanbi Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate the supreme sacrifice made by Company Havildar Major (Late) Bahadur Chand and Rifleman (Late) Dhan Bahadur Thapa at Keithelmanbi Garrison, Imphal West district on July 30.The bravehearts made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the Nation on this day in 1997 at Piphema, Nagaland, said a statement of IGAR(S).

Moreover, Phundrei Battalion also conducted a wreath laying ceremony to honour Late Rifleman Ratan Salam of 4 Assam Rifles at Battalion Headquarters, Phundrei, Thoubal District on July 29.Salam Monika Devi, wife of Late Rifleman Ratan Salam along with other family members took part in the ceremony.

Late Rifleman Ratan Salam displayed exemplary courage and bravery while fighting the insurgents at Khongtal, Chandel District on July 29, 2020 and made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

Similarly, Mantripukhri Battalion also organised a wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate the supreme sacrifice made by Hav Pranay Kalita, Rifleman Ratan Salam and Rifleman YM Konyak during Operation Khongtal on July 29 .
