AKYVO condemns Jiribam killings

Bishnupur, November 28 2024: All Kwakta Youths' Voluntary Organisation (AKYVO) has vehemently condemned the gruesome killing of six innocent civilians including women and children on November 11 at Jiribam.

A release issued by AKYVO stated that the tragic incident is against international law and termed the killings as "an act of terrorism".

AKYVO also urged the Central and State Government to take necessary steps to book the perpetrators involved in the gruesome killings.

It further condemned the recent decision of the Central Government to reimpose AFSPA in six police station areas of Manipur and demanded the Government to repeal the Act with immediate effect Additionally, AKYVO has termed the Government's prolonged closure of all educational institutes as unfortunate and called for reopening of schools and colleges in view of the upcoming board and university examinations.
