Body suspects Govt-black marketers nexus

Imphal, August 28 2021: Pointing out that distribution of PMGKAY rice has become a major issue in the state with people of some constituencies complaining of getting lesser share and many others not getting a single grain since July, All Manipur Nupi Marup has expressed suspicion of a possible nexus between the government and black marketers of rice.

In a statement, Nupi Marup said that despite multiple complaints regarding irregularities in distribution of PMGKAY rice, which would continue till November this year, the state government is doing nothing to address the matter.

Poor families are suffering the most due to Covid-19 pandemic and the organisation strongly condemns the silence of the government in this regard, the Marup said and demanded the government to investigate the matter and take up appropriate actions against FPS agents and contractors responsible.
