Imphal, August 27 2022:
Kambam Sagei Development Committee has expressed its deepest condolence over the demise of 14-year old son of Kambam Barendro and Amusana Devi of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai, Tinsid Road, who passed away from Scrub Typhus in a hospital on Friday.
According to a statement released by Committee secretary Kambam Seityajit, the members offered floral tributes and observed two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
The 14-year-old boy was bitten by an insect a few days ago and was admitted to a hospital on August 23 after he became sick.
His health further deteriorated and he went into multi-organ failure before passing away.
It is highly unfortunate that someone died from Scrub Typhus in this age when medical science has advanced considerably.
As such, the Committee urged the government, health services authority and school authority to take up the requisite steps to prevent such tragedies in the future.
