Arms, ammos recovered in joint operations

Imphal, March 26 2025:
In a series of operations, Indian Army and Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps launched intelligence-based operations in the hill and valley districts of Kakching, Imphal West, Senapati, Imphal East and Bishnupur from March 22 to 25 in coordination with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP and recovered weapons, improvised devices (IEDs) , grenades, ammunition and war like stores.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that acting on specific intelligence about presence of arms and ammunition in Moltinchan area in Kakching district, AR and police launched a joint operation on March 22 and recovered one improvised mortar, one .303 rifle, one modified carbine machine gun, two single barrel rifle ammunition and war-like stores.

AR and police also launched a joint operation the same day and recovered four bolt action rifles from Henbung area in Senapati district whereas another joint operation on March 22 Sagolmang area under Imphal East district led to the recovery of two single bore rifles, two improvised mortars, ammunition and war-like stores.
The release continued that on March 23, Indian Army launched an intelligence-based operation in Phaikot area under Senapati district, recovering one INSAS, one .303 rifle and one Self Loading Rifle (SLR) whereas in Imphal East district, Indian Army launched operation in Seijang area and recovered one .22 rifle, one 12 bore double barrel rifle, four 51 nun mortars and one 9mm pistol on March 24.The same day, Indian Army recovered one AK 47, one 12 bore rifle, one .303 rifle, one double barrel rifle, one modified rifle and two improvised mortars from Dampi area in Bishnupur district, it said.
The release further informed that the recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police.
