Imphal, June 25 2022: DGP Manipur P Doungel has said that the initiative taken up by Manipur police for bringing peace and tranquillity in the society is highly commendable.

Distribution of DGP commendation disc to 91 police officers and personnel, cash reward to 140 officers, personnel, followers and VDF personnel, who have already received commendations, was held at the banquet hall of 1st Manipur Rifles along with a grand feast on Saturday evening.

SPs of different districts and COs of different battalions made presentations on initiatives taken up by their respective districts and units during the event.

Two short video presentations - 'Manipur Police Role' and 'Women in Manipur Police' were also screened at the function.

Speaking on the occasion, DGP P Doungel stressed the need for coordination among different branches and units of the home department as well as dedicated service to the public in order to bring peace and tranquillity in the society and reduce gap between police and public.

He also underscored the role played by police personnel in lower ranks, and said that without their service, the police department would become defunct.
