AR, MU organise North East Seminar

Imphal, April 23 2022: Assam Rifles and Manipur University (MU) organised North East Seminar at Manipur University (MU) on Friday.

In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that a lecture was delivered on "Future Contours of India's Act East Policy in the Emerging Geo Strategic Environment" by a renowned expert on North East region Jaideep Saikia.

The event was attended by ADG Assam Rifles Maj Gen DK Singh, officers of Army and Assam Rifles, veterans, civil dignitaries and faculties of Manipur University.

During the seminar, the speaker chronologically highlighted the shift from Look East to Act East Policy with historical perspectives.

The significance and challenges in manifestation of the policy, issues of concern with Myanmar, China and the NE regions were amply brought out.

At the end of the seminar, the speaker also answered the queries posed by faculties and students of MU, added the PRO.
