AIMC submits charter of demands to political parties

Keeping in mind the forthcoming elections to the Lok Sabha likely to be conducted in April/May, All India Milli Council (AIMS) has submitted a charter of demands, which are resolutions adopted during its political affairs committee meeting held in Mumbai on January 15 and 16, to all secular political parties/ alliances.
In a release, AIMC Manipur general secretary Dr Riyazud-din Falahi informed that the charter of demands include implementation of recommendations of Sachar Committee Report and Justice Ranganath Commission report, establishment of equal opportunity commission, proportional representation of minorities in all government institutions and establishments, single window system and green channel for implementation of government schemes.
Implementation of Waqf Act 1995 and Protection of Minorities Act, withdrawal of amendment made to UAPA Act at various stages, legislation of Communal Bill, 2011, reservation for minorities in educational institutions, development and protection of national and minority languages and issues related to women were among many other demands, the secretary informed.
It may be mentioned that the All India Milli Council is a common national platform of the Muslim community in India and has been rendering services for the unity and solidarity of the nation.
