Imphal, December 22 2021:
As a part of its academic campaign 'Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamshi' to promote quality education, Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) conducted drive at several government schools and found out serious inadequacies including improper infrastructure and shortage of teachers.
In a release, assistant publicity secretary Mu-tum Nongdamba Meitei informed that MSF conducted survey at Budhimanjuri High School, Khonghampat Higher Secondary School and Oinam Government High School, which were upgraded to higher secondary school on December 17 and 20 respectively.
During the survey, it was found that Budhimanjuri High School has been lacking proper class rooms, teachers, potable water and other infrastructures.
For Khonghampat Higher Secondary School, there is shortage of English and Chemistry teachers, he said, while adding that Oinam Government High School is in pitiable state as there is no teacher for arts subjects (Economics, Education and History) and also for Chemistry.
Absence of a proper practical laboratory is also causing serious problem to the students as well, the secretary added.
Nongdamba urged the government to look into the matter of not just the aforementioned government schools but also every school in the state for the welfare of the people and student community in particular.
