Bharathimanaco Branch opened at Kha Potshangbam

Union minister of state for co-operation and development of north east region BL Verma on Monday opened a branch of Bharathimana Fishermen's Development Cooperative Limited (Bharathimanaco) at Kha Potshangbam.
Apart Union MoS BL Verma who attended the event as the chief guest, aquatic resources evaluation, economics and statistics, Government of Nagaland advisor and MLA L Khumo presided over the launch function while Sahakar Bharati All India national general secretary Dr Udhay Joshi, national secretary (organisation) Sanjay Pachppor and National Fishermen Development Board Governing Body member Umesh Pachappan were present as guests of honour.
Speaking at the event, BL Verma assured of all necessary assistance to the fishermen.
Bharatta Fishery has eight lakh employees and 30 lakh members, he said.
The centre has provided substantial amount of funds for the development of Kangpokpi, Bishnupur and Kakching districts.
DoNER Ministry is working at its utmost level for the development of North East Region.
Without the development of NE Region, India cannot become a developed nation, he added.
B L Verma further stated that 10 per cent of total budget has been earmarked for the NE states.
While pointing out that Modi government has allotted Rs 68,500 crore for the NE region so far, he also affirmed that the centre will work for development of the NE states.
