CPI accuses NDA Govt of selling public assets

CPI Manipur State Council has slammed the NDA government for allegedly selling off the public assets of the country in the name of fighting Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement issued by its assistant secretary M Joykumar, CPI Manipur State Council said that India has become one of the worst affected countries in the world due Covid-19 pandemic and the whole country is facing severe hardships owing to virus-induced lockdown.
Amid this situation, the Modi government has been selling off public assets rampantly.
After selling off several assets of Air India, the Modi government is now trying to hand over more assets to private parties.
It has also sold off all the 41 factories of the 220 years old Indian Ordnance Factory.
CPI strongly condemns such disinvestment of public sector undertakings, the statement added.
