Cataract screening, surgery camp held

Bpr, November 20 2021: National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment under National Health Mission along with Toubul Youth Development Association organised a one-day free cataract screening and surgery camp at the office of the Association on Saturday.

According to Association president Th Dhiren several people with cataract infection were detected during the camp.

Those who need surgery for the cataract will be done at low cost, he informed adding that free medicines were also distributed and those people who required spectacles will be provided the same within 20 days.

The camp was attended by Dr Monalisa Mayengbam, Dr Moirangthem Anand, camp co-ordinator Dr Ranjeeta Devi, staff nurse Ph Puspa Devi, M Pukloshei Haokip, eye counsellor Kadambani Devi, M Anita, Pera Medical Ophthalmic assistant Rajen, Ch Somendro, Th Bhumeshwori Devi and DEO Romee.
