AR aids 58 youths secure hotel jobs

Skill development programme conducted jointly by Assam Rifles and 'We Care Skill Solution' from June 10 as part of an MoU signed between the two led to 58 youths securing employment in renowned hotels across the country, informed PRO IGAR (S) .
In a release, the PRO said that realising the natural talent of youth in Manipur, tailor-made programmes in hospitality and retail were conceptualised by the Assam Rifles.
The need was felt to hone the intrinsic skills of these youth and empower them with skill sets for employment across the nation.
In a bid to wean away youth from violence and opening their avenues for employment, the IGAR (South) and We Care Skill Solutions got into a Memorandum of Understanding on June 3 this year under which it was decided that Assam Rifles will provide training infrastructure and assist in identifying potential candidates, while We Care Skill Solutions will provide faculty for the Programme.
In all 89 out of 96 youths who registered for the programme completed the 12-week course, which concluded on September 13.Over twelve weeks, lives of these 'selected few' Were transformed by channelising their energy, shaping their personalities and grooming their inherent potentials, the PRO added.
Of the 89 students who completed the course, 47 are women, highlighting the programme's significant role towards women empowerment in the state.
58 students were eligible for employment and were put through online interviews of reputed hotel/retail chains wherein all the Candidates were selected for employment by Leela Ambience (Delhi), Taj Vivanta (Tawang), ITC Windsor (Bangalore), Ginza Tokyo (Delhi), Royal Orchid (Bhuj), ITC Maratha (Mumbai), Clarion (Kochi) and Click by Suba Group, Lucknow.
In addition, two youths have secured employment in similar fields within Imphal, the PRO conveyed, while adding that the candidates were felicitated in an event organised at Mantripukhri on Wednesday.
