AR rescues Meetei man from Kuki area

Imphal, June 18 2024:
A team of 22 Assam Rifles reportedly rescued a Meetei man identified as Manglemba (45), so.n of Dhananjoy of Dolaithabi, who inadvertently ventured into a Kuki village in Saikul area on Monday night.
Source said that the AR team launched search and rescue operation on Monday around 8 pm after receiving information of a Meetei civilian held captive by Kuki village volunteers of Uthan-glong village in Saikul area.
The AR team found the man at the office of Kuki Inpi, Saikul and rescued him safely.
He was brought to the battalion's company post at Saikul and later handed over to Sagolmang police station on Tuesday around 9.30 am .
