Tributes paid to 'Shaheed' Shapam Sanjit

Imphal, February 17 2025:
143 Bn CRPF organised a wreath ceremony in honour of 'Saheed' CT/GD Shapam Sanjit Singh of CRPF on the occasion of with his 21st martyrdom anniversary held at Eureka High School, Sapam Zone-Ill, Thoubal district on Monday.
In a release, 143 Bn informed that commandant Ravinder Sharma accompanied by officers and personnel paid floral tributes and homage to the martyr in the presence of his parents and family members.
Eureka High School headmaster, teaching staff, students, villagers and other eminent figures of the locality were also present at the commemorative event.

A photo frame of the martyr along with gifts was also presented to the martyr's family while parents of 'Shaheed' Sanjit Singh distributed prizes to students of the school who excelled in the academic session 2024-25 .
The release recounted that on February 17, 2004, 44 Bn CRPF launched an op eration against insurgents at Moirang Khunou village under Kumbi police station in Bishnupur district during which the troops came under fire from insurgents, who laid an ambush.
The brave troopers including CT/GD Shapam Sanjit Singh of CRPF sustained grievous injuries in the battle and attained martyrdom on February 17, 2004, the release added.
