Awareness prog against poppy cultivation held

Kamjong, September 14 2022: An awareness programme against poppy cultivation was organised by Kasom Khullen SDO Office in collaboration with CSOs, church, women and youth leaders at Sadbhavna Mandap of Kasom village in Kamjong district on Wednesday.

People gathered at the programme pledged to uphold 'War against Drugs' and zero tolerance policy against poppy plantation in Kasom Khullen sub-division.

They also collectively declared to work with the present government in its endeavour against the drug menace and also assured of giving full support to the government in eliminating poppy cultivation in the area.

The programme was attended by Kasom Khullen SDO Duna Duo; Tangkhul Naga Aze Longphang chairman Shomi Angkang; additional SP (Kamjong) Ringthing Hongchui; PHC Kasom Khullen medical officer Dr Moshil Khulak; range forest officer (Kamjong) Worthern Molthau; Kasom Khullen Sub-Division Development Association secretary Worthing Shin-glai; Kasom Khullem Sub-Division Students' Union chairman Asung Ningshen; and Good Shepherd Church catechist Ngamtairing Setei among others.
