Wings of Hope aids crisis-affected children

Imphal, April 14 2024: In an effort to provide solace and support to the young victims of the ethnic clashes in the state, Wings of Hope Charitable Trust embarked on a mission of compassion, marking its maiden flight on February 25, 2024 .

The trust basically formed to ensure uninterrupted education of 21 children of fallen heroes, on Sunday collaborated with its sister organisation EMA Trust launched its Long Haul Glide initiative with the support of Radiant Foundation.

The initiative aims to support education of 60 children, who have been left in the care of widows after loss of their fathers in the ongoing conflicts.

The first phase of the project has seen the enrolment of 16 children, ranging from nursery to graduate levels, into educational programmes.

These children, hailing from remote corners of the state, face the daily challenges of residing in "Danger Zones" situated in the foothills and far-flung rural areas.

Despite the harsh living conditions, the trust remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring these children receive the education they rightfully deserve.

The project will cover essential expenses such as admission fees, school uniforms, textbooks, monthly school fees, and transport fees wherever feasible for the 60 identified beneficiaries.

These boys and girls, representing the future pillars of the Manipuri society, reside in areas that have been marked as high risk zones.

Through dedicated field surveys, volunteers of the Wings of Hope Charitable Trust have reached out to widows and children in the remotest corners, ensuring that no child is left behind.

With a resolve to help these children attend school every day until they complete their education up to class 12, the Wings of Hope Charitable Trust vowed to continue its fight against darkness, illuminating the path towards a brighter future for the next generation.
