Healthcare workers stage protest

Imphal, November 12 2024: Doctors, nurses and staff members of Kripadashini Hospital & Research Centre staged a sit-in protest on Tuesday to denounce threats to the hospital and its staff.

The sit-in staged in front of the hospital's Palace Compound building, had the participants displaying placards inscribed "Do not disrupt those serving the public", "Step threatening the hospital and its staff", and "Allow us the freedom to serve the public" .

A protester noted that people from all walks of life have been impacted due to the crisis lingering for the past 18 months with healthcare facilities and hospitals also facing similar distressful situation.

It is regretful that certain groups and organisations have been making monetary demands and threatening hospitals and staff members, expressed the protester.
