Oncology society organises MOSCON 2022

Manipur Oncology Society Imphal organised its 5th Annual conference, MOSCON 2022 on the theme 'Targeting Cancer with Modern and Evidence Based Approach', at the Imperial Hall of Classic Grande here on Saturday.
The conference was attended by Department of Radiation Oncology RIMS former head Prof Th Tomcha Singh as chief guest, and Manipur Oncology Society Imphal president and MOSCON 2022 organising chairman Prof Y Indibor Singh as president, while Department of Urology RIMS former head Prof Sinam Rajendra Singh was guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Y Indibor remarked that Manipur has the highest number of cancer cases among the north-eastern states.
The annual conference was thus organised with the aim of increasing knowledge on how to control and prevent this terminal disease.
During the conference, oncologists and post graduate doctors can share knowledge and information on latest techniques in treatment of this disease.
Altogether 180 delegates are taking part in MOSCON 2022, he stated, while informing that the conference is being held in hybrid manner, in the sense that it is also being held virtually.
In his speech, MOSCON 2022 organising secretary Dr Dhanabir Thangjam informed that post graduate students who have conducted researches on cancer will be allowed to present papers during the conference.
The top 5 presenters will be awarded with cash prizes as encouragement, he added.
