Indian Army celebrates Armed Forces Flag Day

On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, Spear Corps of Indian Army engaged with school students across the North-Eastern states to honour the sacrifices of brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces and foster patriotism among the youth.
In Assam, celebrations were held at Borpather Lower Primary School and Margherita Public Higher Secondary School in Tinsukia district.
The day witnessed enthusiastic participation from children who were thrilled to interact with the men in uniform.
The activities highlighted the importance of national unity arid the collective responsibility of ensuring the welfare of Armed Forces personnel and their families, a release by PRO Defence informed.
The release also stated that simultaneously, at St Francis of Assisi School, Nongdam Tangkhul, Imphal East district, the Indian Army organised motivational lectures, inspiring the students to consider a career in the Armed Forces.
The sessions underscored the critical role of the Armed Forces in safeguarding the nation.
Children were also pinned with flags, sweets were distributed, and the significance of Armed Forces Flag Day was explained, it added.
