Imphal, November 30 2021: At least five people including four personnel of 7th Bn Manipur Rifles and a civilian were injured after the escort vehicle of BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda had head-on collision with an ambulance at Taokuamjang village under Noney PS on Tuesday.

According to a police report, the accident occurred around 9.45 am, when the green-coloured escort Gypsy of Sharda collided with an ambulance (Force MN01TC003) of Noney PHC.

As a result, the five occupants inside the Maruti Gypsy sustained serious injuries.

The injured people were immediately taken to Noney PHC for emergency first aid and later transported to Imphal in a helicopter.

All five of them are undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity, Imphal, the report conveyed.

Sources informed that following prompt instructions by chief minister N Biren, one critically injured security personnel was airlifted to a hospital in Imphal for treatment.

The accident took place when Sharda Devi and her team were on their way to Noney district to attend the conference of the party held at Noney town.
