Imphal, June 30 2022: Joint Action Committee Against the Land Eviction Process of Waithou Sangomsang Hill Area has suspended its proposed stir after the Thoubal district administration gave an assurance of arranging meeting with the chief minister at the earliest.

The JAC planned launch of the agitation from Friday if a meeting with CM Biren and land owners was not arranged by Thursday.

In a release, JAC's convener Md Abdul Quayum stated that the proposed agitation has been kept in abeyance in consideration of Thoubal deputy commissioner A Subhash and SP Jogeschandra Haobijam assuring to arrange the meeting as early as possible and in view of the festival of Kang.

If the meeting with the CM is not arranged as assured then the JAC will resume its agitation, it further cautioned.
