LPG warehouse in residential areas inspected

Imphal, June 30 2021: A team of CAF & PD officials inspected the warehouse of M/S Thomson Indane Agency, Tamenglong following reports of storing defective gas cylinders including refilled ones without approval and against norms.

After the inspection, the team warned the gas agency of blacklisting if it continues to store reject gas cylinders in future.

The team comprising DSO L Ibomcha and inspector Haobam Boby of the department and Heingang police inspected the warehouse of the LPG agency owned by one Thomson at Sangakpham Paomei Colony and asked the owner to shift the warehouse immediately.

Inspector Boby told media persons that it is dangerous to keep LPG cylinder warehouse in densely populated area as it has high chance of causing fire incident.

He also said that the owner of the gas agency has been told to shift the warehouse at a safer location and the department will initiate action against LPG agencies keeping warehouse in densely populated areas.
