MLA Rameshwar begins payment to ASHAs

Imphal, May 31 2021: In fulfilment of his earlier announcement of paying Rs 2000 per month to Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) on top of their monthly honorarium of Rs 2000 per month as encouragement; Keirao AC MLA Lourembam Rameshwar distributed the monetary assistance along with edibles, face masks, sanitisers and other essential items during a function held at his Kyamgei residence on Monday afternoon.

Lauding the contributions and sacrifices of the ASHAs as frontline workers in the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic, Rameshwar said that they play a key role in helping the Covid affected families by delivering the medicines and other support provided by the government.

He then appealed to all those who have tested positive for Covid-19 to opt for the CHIC opened at Keirao Wangkhem instead of home isolation, adding that the centre is providing all necessary facilities including food and has around 20 cylinders of medical oxygen.

The MLA further appealed to all the unvaccinated denizens to contact the Covid Task Force of the constituency to get inoculated and for testing purposes, if needed.
