UNACCO School launches Free Eye Screening programme

Imphal, November 28 2024: UNACCO School, in partnership with Medilane Foundation and Medilane Eye Care, have launched a "Free School Eye Health Screening Programme" for students of Class I and above.

According to a release issued by UNACCO School, the initiative is part of the broader "National Programme for Control of Blindness", aimed at promoting eye health and early detection of vision-related issues among young learners.

The programme was also held at UNACCO School Chanung, on November 28, 2024 under the theme "See Clearly, Learn Brightly: Screening for Brighter Tomorrows!" .

Today, a total of 124 students from classes IV to IX participated, comprising 85 boys and 39 girls.

60 residential staff of the school were also examined.

The eye health screening will continue at other UNACCO Schools, including UNACCO School Meitram, and UNACCO School Chanura, with specific dates to be announced later.
