AR seizes drug worth ₹5 crore

Imphal, August 27 2022: Modi Battalion of IGAR (S) in collaboration with Manipur Police seized narcotics worth Rs 5 crore from Bongmol village in Tengnoupal district on Friday.

According to PRO IGAR (S), based on specific intel ligence input, Mobile Vehicle Check Post near Bongmol village intercepted a white colour Bolero that came from Sita village side towards Bongmol village.

On thorough search of the vehicle, troops of Assam Rifles recovered suspected WIY tablets in 10 yellow plastic bundles concealed in the oil tank of the vehicle.

The PRO informed that the seized narcotics weighed 11.755 kilograms and assessed to be worth approximately Rs 5 crore in the international market.

The drug peddler along with the seized narcotics has been handed over to Machi police station for further investigation, the PRO added.
