Wangkhei MLA prays for success of Chingkhei Ching plant

Imphal, February 26 2023: Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arunkumar has stated that if the Chingkhei Ching Water Treatment Plant functions smoothly and last long then the constituency will no longer have any water shortage issue.

He made the statement as the chief guest at the 5th Foundation Day celebration of Nongmeibung Chakpram Leirak Development Committee (NCLDC) held at Nongmeibung Primary School ground on Saturday.

The MLA, who also inaugurated a multi utility park at the school ground, declared that in view of the age-old practice of cremating corpses along the river banks one of the factors for pollution caused to major rivers flowing in the state, an electric crematorium will be installed in a suitable location within the assembly constituency to reduce the problem.

He then spoke about his reason for joining politics and vision for the constituency, while expressing belief that the committee would take the responsibility of maintaining the newly inaugurated park and appealed to all to maintain cleanliness in public spaces as we do in our private spaces.

Presided over by NCLDC chairman Chakpram Rupachandra, the function was attended by Eastern Students' Club, Nongmeibung president Nongthombam Indrajit Singh as guest of honour.
