RIMS holds training on life saving procedures

A training course on Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BCLS) & Comprehensive Cardiopulmonary Life Support (CCLS) (Training of Trainers) under Indian Resuscitation Council Federation was held at RIMS, Imphal examination hall on Saturday.
In a release, RIMS informed that the training was attended by its director professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma as chief guest in presence of RIMS medical superintendent professor N Sanjib Singh, dean (Academics) professor Akoijam Brogen Singh, Department of Anaesthesiology HoD professor Gojendra Rajkumar and Health City Hospital, Guwahati, Assam Critical Care senior consultant Dr Reshu Gupta.
Speaking on the occasion, the RIMS director informed that as per the National Medical Commission (NMC) mandate, training on life saving procedures (BCLS & CCLS) are mandatory for post-graduation in the country.
Even without these procedures, being a doctor one should be able to save life and at least need to know the ABCDs (Airway, Breathing, Compression and Defibrillator) and CPR so that life can be saved at those precious moments or seconds of life.
The event was also attended by HoDs, doctors and staff of RIMS, Imphal.
