Woman held with drugs worth H.5 crore

Imphal, June 25 2022:
A team of Imphal police station along with women personnel led by OC inspector Ng Johnson arrested a 42-year-old woman along with heroin worth Rs 1.5 crore from Torbung Makha Leikai in Bishnupur district on Saturday at around 5 pm.
The police team was waiting for the drug traffickers after they received reliable information of two individuals about to visit Torbung to sell drugs.
The police team intercepted a TVS Jupiter (MN02G 0081), as identified by the source, with two riders, one male and one female, at around 4.20 pm.
The man fled the scene while police rounded up the woman along with a gunny bag they were transporting.
The woman identified herself as T Nemneilhing alias Lhingbem (42), wife of Paolen Haokip of K Zalenmoul village, Tengnoupal but presently staying at New Lamka in Churachandpur district.
On searching the gunny bag, police found 60 soap cases containing heroin in a blue plastic polythene bag.
Accordingly, the contraband heroin was seized from her possession and she was arrested at the spot at 05:00 pm.
The seized drugs weigh around 750 gram and would worth Rs 1.50 crore.
She along with the seized drugs was handed over to Moirang police station.
