Imphal, April 23 2022:
Irom Kunjabita, the principal in-charge of Naorem Bihari College, Khundrakpam (aided), has refuted the allegations levelled by the former chairman and secretary of the governing body of the college.
She also cautioned of strict legal action if the teachers concerned fail to clarify on the matter within three days.
Addressing a press meet held at the college on Saturday, Kunjabita informed that she was appointed as the principal in-charge as per a government order notified on January 1.As she took charge, the chairman and secretary of the now-dissolved governing body of the college, N Thoiba, and suspended HOD of Physics Department, N Sheetaljit, who is now facing an inquiry, made some serious corruption allegations against her.
They also alleged that several improper job appointments were carried out.
Refuting all the allegations, the principal in-charge stated that as she is not part of the governing body, there is no issue regarding job appointments.
Furthermore, a member of a dissolved governing body has no right to interfere, while the DPC carried out at the time of dissolution will also be rendered invalid.
Thus, she urged all concerned to teach a lesson to such people who are trying to threaten the existence of the college.
She also condemned the attempts being made to hinder future development of the college with such baseless allegations.
