Integrated Communication and Outreach Program held

The Central Bureau of Communication Regional Office, Imphal, under the supervision of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, organised Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme at Standard College, Kongba on Friday.
Speaking at the programme at the chief guest, Manipur University South East Asian Studies Department head professor Chinglen Maisnam drew the attention of the people of the state on importance of financial, budget, scheme and electoral literacy in order to bring change in society.
He stressed the need for a scheme literacy campaign to educate the potential beneficiaries of the different government schemes to make the schemes effective and successful.
He also deliberated on the need for awareness campaign on financial and budget literacy as well.
Talking about the effects of funds mismanagement, Chinglen continued that democracy needs to be strengthened for the nation to realise its dream of developing the economy on-par with the superpower nations by 2027.He urged all those eligible to cast their vote responsibly in order to build a truly democratic society and also encouraged youth who are 18 years of age and above to register in the electoral roll and join the democratic process.
The event was attended by Central Bureau of Communication, Imphal field publicity officer Nongmaithem Reena and Standard College principal Laishram Basanti among others.
