Training programme for weavers inaugurated

The launch ceremony of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) on 'Awareness Building and Training of Designers, Weavers, Artisans on Digibunal CAD Software' cum Digibunal awareness and mobilisation camp was held on Monday at Multipurpose Hail, Longmai Part-3, Noney district headquarters.
The event was attended by social worker Adim Pamei, who is also chairman of Action For Greening Manipur, as chief guest and Longmai Bazar Board Gailung Gangmei as guest of honour.
The project is funded by textile Skills Sector Council under DoNER Ministry and implemented by National Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation Ltd (NEHHDC) in partnership with WiZEiz (Technical & Training Partners).
The programme was also attended by WiZEiz CEO Siddartha Dutta, NEHHDC Manipur area representative Silvia Gaidinliu Panmei and programme coordinator Monideepa.
Speaking on the occasion, Siddartha Dutta informed 250 beneficiaries in the age group of 16-60 years will be selected for a 10-day training bridge course on RPL for the aforementioned persons on digibunal CAD software.
On completion of the training, the participants will get entrepreneurship certification and stipend and may also avail grants and loans for their cluster and for setting up their own enterprise through NEHHDC, he added.
