State duo held with drugs in Assam

Imphal, September 20 2021:
Around 412 grams of heroin was seized from a Bolero vehicle (MN-01AK/4789 and two persons hailing from Thoubal district arrested in Assam by Karbi Anglong police at Laharijan Police Patrolling point (PPP) during checking around 11pm on Sunday.
According to reports of Assam Tribune and PTI, the vehicle coming from Manipur and heading towards Guwahati was stopped for checking based on intelligence inputs about transportation of a drugs consignment in a Bolero vehicle.
The search led to the recovery of 30 soap cases containing 412 gm of contraband heroin hidden in the backlight assembly.
The arrested persons have been, identified as Amzad Ali (37) son of Jailabuddin, and Syed Anish Khan (38) son of Kamir Shah, both residents of Thoubal district.
The reports quoted sources as saying that the market value of the heroin is Rs 3.5 crore.
