Claim of PRO IGAR (S) refuted by committees

Kakching, November 19 2023:
Committees of various relief camps in Kakching district have vehemently denounced the claim made by PRO, IGAR (South) in a statement that that five cadres of proscribed KYKL, who recently surrendered to the Assam Rifles in Tengnoupal, were trained as village volunteers at relief camps in Kakching before being handed over to the outfit's cadres based on the Indo-Myanmar border.
In a joint press release, six Kakching relief camp committees namely, Kha Manipur College, Old Age Home, Kalyan Ashram, Kakching Wairi Kongoi Community Hall, Indoor Stadium and Yumbi Macha High School, strongly condemned the press statement of PRO, IGAR(South) which was published in the local dailies on Sunday, terming it as an attempt to portray the relief camps in bad light and presenting it as training centres for insurgents.
Stating that no relief camp in Kakching has provided any training to any village volunteer till date or handed over any inmate to any insurgent group or private individuals; the Committees further denied any connection or link with the five people who surrendered to AR with any of the relief camp in Kakching district.
