Drugs from CCpur seized in Cachar

Imphal, February 18 2025:
Cachar police recovered consignment of heroin and Yaba tablets valued at Rs 14 crore and arrested one individual during an operation under the jurisdiction of Dholai Police Station.
Cachar police intercepted a Maruti WagonR in Ramprasadpur and, upon inspection, discovered 40,000 Yaba tablets and 260 grams of heroin concealed inside the vehicle.
The arrested individual has been identified as Rakesh Kumar Sinha (24), soil of Rajkumar Sinha of Hatikhal village, Assam.
During interrogation, Rakesh revealed that the contraband items were brought from Churachandpur district and was intended for distribution across different parts of the country indicating involvement of a larger drug network operating across state borders.
The arrested individual, along with the seized drugs, has been taken into custody for legal proceedings.
Yaba is a tablet form of a mixture of methamphetamine (a powerful and addictive stimulant) and caffeine.
