120 buildings demolished in Irong Chesaba

Thoubal, June 17 2022: As part of the state government's ongoing drive against encroachments on government land, around 120 structures including 30 houses and 20 toilets found illegally constructed along the banks of Imphal and Thoubal rivers and falling under the jurisdiction of Irong Chesaba SDC circle, Thoubal district, were demolished on Friday.

SDO Lilong Angom Shijalembi led the demolition drive under the aegis of Thoubal DC and saw to the dismantling of the illegal structures including houses, shops, toilets, etc.

However, the drive also left-three impoverished families arid another family with a differently-abled child without shelter.

According to SDO Angom Shijalembi, the driver will continue on Saturday and five more illegal structures along Imphal River bank would be dismantled.

A team of Imphal West District SP, along with teams of Water Resource Department, Mayang Imphal, and DC Thoubal also took part in the drive.
