Health minister vows herbal garden at RD Wing

A cleanliness drive was conducted in and around RD Wing of Lamphel on Thursday under the initiative of Health minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh.
Bushes growing around RD Wing complex and garbage dumped on the roadside of the Wing were cleared during the drive.
Additional chief secretary V Vumlunmang, Health Services director Shasheekumar Mangang, Manipur State AIDS Control Society project director Rosita Haobarn, officials of Health Department and personnel of Lamphel Police Station were among those who joined the cleanliness campaign that started early in the morning.
During an interaction with the media, minister Dr Ranjan said that the cleanliness drive was conducted with an objective to change the dirty and ugly sight with a neat and clean look.
While informing that valuable plants would be planted at the sites where the overgrown bushes were cleared, he also confided that a herbal garden will be developed at the RD Wing campus.
The minister also appealed to all to abandon the habit of dumping garbage at improper sites.
"Instead, we should cultivate the habit of keeping our surroundings neat and clean," he stressed.
Later, Dr Ranjan and his team inspected the existing office building of Manipur State AIDS Control Society, store rooms in RD Wing, drainage system of the Wing and other buildings in the campus.
