New DC Noney takes charge, vows development

Newly transferred deputy commissioner of Noney Joseph Pauline Kamson on Wednesday assumed his office from his predecessor Haulianlal Guite, who has taken over charge as DC Pherzawl.
The new Noney DC was warmly welcomed by people of Noney with traditional stoles and bouquets presented by various CSOs and Longmai area village authority councils at a reception programme held at his office chamber on Wednesday.
Interacting with media persons, DC Joseph Pauline Kamson said, "I'm very happy to be in my home district and serve the people.
This makes me closer to my near and dear ones and people who can understand our own dialect".
He also appealed to people of the district to extend their cooperation and fully support any developmental work carried out in Noney district.
Mentioning that the state government is paying more focus on newly created districts in terms of development of infrastructures, the DC assured that he will also put maximum effort and implement all developmental activities in a judicious manner.
Joseph also stated that his focus will be on road construction especially, double lane expansion of NH-37 and sought public's support in carrying out the incomplete projects in the district within stipulated time frame.
Joseph assured that as a local officer he will stay within the confine of district headquarters itself, so that every problem and grievance faced by the general public can be sorted out.
He further appealed to district level officers including SP Noney and all the government employees to be stationed in their respective place of posting and render their valuable services with sincerity and diligently.
"We need to work harder than the old districts, so that the new districts also grow and develop on par with the old districts," he exhorted.
He also urged Noney denizens to take advantage of 'Meeyamgi Numit' or 'Hill Leaders' Day and air their grievances so that the government can take up prompt action according to needs of the people.
Before he took over the charge of DC Noney, a blessing and dedication prayer programme was conducted by Longmai-4 Baptist Church pastor Adim Gonmei.
It may be mentioned here that Joseph Pauline Kamson is the first from Rongmei tribe and a local officer who has been posted to Noney district as a deputy commissioner.
