Free eye camp organised at Thangmeiband

Imphal, August 14 2022: Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) in association with Thangmeiband Youth Social Reformation Development Committee organised the second free eye camp at Ima Panthoibi Shanglen, Thangmeiband Maisnam Leikai here on Sunday.

During the camp, which was inaugurated by local MLA Kh Joykisan, denizens of IMC Ward No 1 in Thangmeiband AC had their eyes checked by doctors and staff of Health Department.

Operation facilities for cataract patients were provided and free spectacles distributed to those in need.

Speaking on the occasion, Development Committee president Sinam Sarat informed that the free eye camp was organised as part of the National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Empowerment and National Health Mission under the supervision of the MLA to assist the locals who cannot afford to go to the hospital for treatment.
