Did not mean to accuse Govt, clarifies Inpi

Kangpokpi, July 13 2021: Thadou Inpi Sadar Hills Kangpokpi District on Tuesday made a clarification in connection with its press statement issued under the headline 'No encroachers at Mt Koubru' .

The Thadou body clarified that mentioning the state government in its earlier press release did not mean to accuse the government of Manipur of inciting some communal-minded organisations like Kangleipak Kanba Lup, Federation of Haomee and Liangmei Naga Council or forming an alliance with them.

It also clarified that "we only mean to express our displeasure to the government for not taking action against the communal forces, which always target the Kukis and brand them as foreigners, refugees or tenants".

The Thadou body then said that the error on its part is deeply regretted and appealed to the state government to resolve the Mt Koubru issue amicably by accommodating the sentiment of the local inhabitants.
