3-day cultural festival concludes

The 3-day long cultural festival organised by Chana Lukhoi Art Centre in association with Patriotic Writers' Forum (PWF), Manipur culminated at Chana Pukhri Mapal, Lamlai AC on Friday.
The closing function was attended by Imphal East District up-adhyaksha Kshetri Tama as chief guest; PWF vice president Sobita Mongjam as president and social worker Dinesh as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Kshetri Tama noted that a united Manipur without the confluence of its culture is impossible, for culture is the backbone of a society.
It is the responsibility of each one of us to preserve our rich cultural wealth.
Chana Lukhoi is renowned in the country for his efforts towards preservation of various art forms and also in the field of Shumang Kumhei and Meitei Puya Wari Leeba.
As such, the 3-day festival has been of great benefit to emerging artistes.
Only we alone are responsible for preserving our culture and not others, Tama remarked.
In her speech, PWF vice president Sobita Mongjam said that the Forum has been organising various cultural programmes in Manipur, Assam, Tripura, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
She then credited the successful conduct of the festival to Chana Lukhoi Art Centre and its artistes and as such, expressed belief that the festival would be celebrated in a grandeur manner in the future.
