Khurai sit-ins protest grenade attack

Imphal, February 12 2022: Sit-in protests were held at various parts of Khurai assembly constituency on Saturday denouncing the hand grenade attack at the Khabeisoi Mamang Leikai residential gate of Md Abdul Kalam on Friday.

Abdul is the worker of National People's Party (NPP) candidate from Khurai AC L Jayananda During the sit-in protest staged at Khabeisoi Mamang Leikai, one Shabnam informed that a bomb was also placed earlier at the same site and asked the perpetrators to clarify the rationale for targeting Abdul.

Shabnam also demanded the government to arrest the culprits involved in the attack and punish them as per law of the land.

Meanwhile, Konsam Mee-na, one of the protestors who participated in another sit-in protest held at Khurai Konsam Leikai, termed as unfortunate that NPP candidate L Jayananda is being targeted with bombs and demanded the government arrest the culprits involved.

Similar sit-in-protests decrying the grenade attack were also held at Khurai Konsam Leikai, Khomidok, Khurai Heikru Makhong, Khurai Saianthong, etc.
