World Mental Health Day observed

Imphal, October 11 2024: Share and Care (SAC), Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, and Kanglei Mime Theatre, Langthabal Kunja, jointly organised observance programme of 'World Mental Health Day 2024' at the Mime Theatre premises on Friday under the theme "It is time to prioritise mental health in the workplace".

The observance was attended by former head of RIMS clinical psychology department M Akshayakumar, former SAC president Dr MK Singh, All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association president Laishram Joy Khuman, and SAC founder Dr RK Lenin as presidium members.

As part of the event, prizes were distributed to winners of an essay writing competition held on September 10 in connection with World Suicide Prevention Day.

The competition, organised under the theme "Role of Common People in Suicide Prevention", was aimed at raising awareness about the importance of community involvement in preventing suicide.

The highlight of the event was a short play titled You Are Our Gems," performed by artistes of Kanglei Mime Theatre.

The play conveyed a strong message to youth and adolescents about the dangers of drug abuse.

The theatre group announced that it would distribute videos of the play to schools to help spread awareness among students on the harmful effects of drug abuse.
