Assam Rifles units conduct lectures

Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles organised a motivational lecture on 'Role of students in nation building' at St Peter's School, Tengnoupal on Thursday as part of 75th Independence Day celebration.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the event was organised to make students aware about their responsibility and role in the building of a strong nation.
A total of 420 students and teachers attended the lecture.
Churachandpur Battalion also organised a motivational lecture at Aina village on tree plantation drive to promote afforestation and to create awareness amongst the troops and villagers of Aina and Mulhoichin.
The drive was also in consonance of "Clean Earth, Green Earth" initiative of Government of India During the event, 45 saplings of fruit, shady and local variety of plants were distributed to Aina and Mulhoichin villagers.
On the other hand, Keithelmanbi and Mantripukhri battalions of IGAR (South) conducted awareness lectures for educating locals and troops of Assam Rifles about the national flag as part of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in Thoubal, Kamjong and Bishnupur districts and at Mantripukhri Garrison on Thursday to commemorate 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'.
During the awareness lectures, locals and troops of Assam Rifles were enlightened about the history of national flag, its importance and the flag code.
The events saw a very healthy participation of over 200 locals and 126 troops of Assam Rifles with an enriching interaction.
