Institute for judicial studies opened at Sagolband

Centre for Judicial Studies, Imphal, an institute to nurture new lawyers to enhance their capacity and knowledge for their career advancement, was opened on the second floor of Longjam Brothers Building, Sagolband Tera Bazar on Sunday.
Retired District and Sessions judges K Brajakumar and Birendrakumar, and Prof Ch Narendra attended the inauguration function as members on the dais.
Addressing the gathering, K Brajakumar said'that just possessing a certificate is not enough in this competitive age as experience is equally crucial in tasting success.
Noting that fresh law graduates are often found wanting when it comes to court room manners and etiquettes, he recounted that in the past, there was a chamber system where new lawyers were provided help in their career but the system is no longer today.
The institute aims to fill this gap by providing guidance, Brajakumar said.
He further stating that the institute has an academic board, members of which have over 40 years of experience in judiciary system.
The curriculum is meticulously planned in two sections to provide maximum guidance to the fresh graduates, elaborated the retired judge.
