Medical assessment camp for CWSN conducted

Zonal Education Office (ZEO)/District Project Office- Samagra Shiksha (IED), Kakching in association with chief medical officer (CMO), Kakching conducted a one-day Medical Assessment/Identification Camp for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) between the age of 6-18 from Kakching district at Practising Junior High School Kakching, near the ZEO Office on Thursday.
Speaking in connection with the camp, Samagra Shiksha Kakching IED coordinator Yumnam Loidang Devi informed that the medical assessment camp was organised to ensure CWSN receive proper education and to find out the degree of disability to provision of certificates, aids and appliances required for education.
As part of the camp, 51 children were assessed of their level of disability which included seven visually impaired children, 15 orthopedically impaired, nine hearing/speech impaired and 20 with intellectual disability.
Samagra Shiksha DPO and ZEO Kakching Y Achouba also distributed wheelchair, hearing aid, white cane stick, etc., to some differently abled children at the programme.
