Imphal, January 09 2025: Kanglei Ngaaklou branch Kege Moirang observed Chahi Taret Khuntakpa observance at Chandapur Meitei Shanglen located at Bishnupur district on Thursday.

Speaking at the obser vance, political activist Sapamcha Kangleipal high lighted the need for unity by learning a lesson from the conflict erupted since May 3, 2023 and added that only unity can counter the attempts to disrupt the unity of Manipur.

Similar observances were also held at Kanto Sabal School ground, Langei hall located at Nongpok Sanjenbam and Thumkhong ground at Nongpok Leihou Ching.

On the other hand, Images of Manipur release production of Meitei Eshei in connection with 191 death anniversary of Maharaj Gambhir Singh at Khuman Lampak youth hostel on Thursday.

A release issued by Images of Manipur informed that the programme was attended by its legal advisor Lukram Kiranmala as chief guest, Yumnam Nolini Leima as president and Nameirakpam Inaoshana Leima as guest of honour.

Floral tributes were also paid to the photo of Maharaj Gambhir Singh.

In separate releases, Thawai Mirel and Pangal Tem, Manipur in connection with the death anniversary of Maharaj Gambhir Singh recalled how Maharaj Gambhir Singh established Manipur levy and expelled Burmese from Manipur.
